1. Lemon Tea Sake


Ingredients: Sake & Lemon Tea (e.g. Lipton)

Method: The ratio is ‘8 Sake: 2 lemon tea’, flexible to your preference. Add them together with some ice. It really just tastes like lemon tea!

2. Yogurt & Sake


Sweet, healthy and skin-friendly. Ideal for female drinkers!

Ingredients: 

  • Sake 100 ml
  • Plain yogurt 200 g
  • Honey 1.5 tbs
  • Salt 0.5 Tsp
  • 1 Strawberry for garnish (optional)

Method: (Just mix!)

Add all ingredients in a mixing bowl. Mix them. Put it in a fridge for 30 mins. Strain it into a glass and garnish with a strawberry.

3. Ginger Ale & Sake


Refreshing. Little taste of Sake can be found on the palate, but it’s good as it is.

Ingredients:

  • Sake 45 ml
  • Ginger Ale 30 ml
  • Lemon slices for garnish (optional)

Method:

Fill a glass with ice. Add Sake and then ginger ale. Stir gently so that it doesn’t go flat.

4. Tomato Juice & Sake – ‘Red Sun’


It’s a Japanese version of Red Eye, with beer replaced by Sake. Very refreshing yet Sake flavors can still be identified.

Ingredients:

  • Sake 1/2
  • Tomato juice (chilled) 1/2

Method: 

Add all ingredients into a glass goblet and fill with ice. Mix well.

5. Tropical fruit juice & Sake


It can be any fruit juice, but citrus or tropical juice especially goes well with Sake. Mango is also great.

Ingredients: Sake & Pineapple juice

Method: Add all ingredients so that the ratio is 1:1. Bits of actual fruit or/and a dash of soda are optional.

6. Coke & Sake


A Sake cocktail with everyone’s beloved Coke. Refreshing. Sweetness and bitterness of Coke are well matched with fruity aromas of Sake.

Ingredients: Coke & Sake (1:1). Lemon slices (Optional)

Method: Add all ingredients and fill a glass with ice. Garnish lemon if available.

Note: Coke’s flavor can be dominant, so use fruity Sake (e.g. Ginjo) if possible.

7. Calpis Water & Sake


It tastes like fruity Nigori Zake or Cloudy Sake. Sweet, mild and easy-drinking. Also great if you add some bubbles.

Ingredients: Calpis Water (diluted) & Sake (1:1)

Method: Add all ingredients so that the ratio is 1:1, and fill with ice.

8. Lemon & Sake


This is not technically a cocktail, but a few drops of lemon juice makes Sake surprisingly cleaner and easier to drink.

A must try if you are still not used to the distinct taste of Sake!

Ingredients: 

  • 1 small cup of Sake (Ochoko size)
  • 1 wedge of fresh lemon
